Music can capture the rhythms of life, the ebb and flow of how we make our way in the world. Through my music I want to make that way as sweet and soulful a trip as I can, both for myself and for you, the listener.
Without doubt music is art, and art, like life, isn’t abstract. It isn’t something to be viewed and analysed objectively and dispassionately. Art is something to be experienced, a visceral and emotional charge that hits you where you live. It should have a life affirming impact and that, friends, is the aim of Maddison’s Thread.
In my song writing, and in the places where my songs lead, from pastoral idylls, through despair, to late night low rent debauchery I hope to embrace grace and grit in equal measure with the feeling of human lives moving like clouds blown to the edge of the horizon and beyond.
