Best known as accordionist and electronic experimentalist with the visionary folk trio Lau, Martin Green is increasingly recognised as a composer, arranger and collaborator in his own right. His career as a composer began in 2003 with the goliath environmental theatre production of ‘Albatross’ based on Shackleton’s journey, which was the centrepiece of the Glastonbury Festival’s Theatre Field in 2004. He was also commission by Kronos Quartet to create a new instrument and piece of music to be played on the instrument for their 2016 tour.
“Flit“ is his brainchild and brings together Portishead’s Adrian Utley, Mogwai’s Dominic Aitchison and Becky Unthank from The Unthanks, with BAFTA-winning animators whiterobot (Will Anderson and Ainslie Henderson) to create an extraordinary live show. The project features some of today’s most influential musicians which coincides with rich visual production, exploring themes of migration through darkly atmospheric songs and breath-taking stop-motion animation.
