May Gibbs

May Gibbs is currently finishing an electronic album of dark folktales under the name ‘Mesadorm’- she’s a writer of beautiful piano based songs, a strikingly original songwriter possessed of a stunning voice of huge range and emotion. You´ll hear echoes of Kate Bush, Bjork, and Martha Wainwright in the background of her songs. Above all else though, you´ll hear the startling sound of a truly exciting new voice in contemporary British music. At The Winemakers she has been invited to curate and host this candlelit evening and is accompanied by a selection of her most formidable world-touring musician co-conspirators. Those who frequent gigs in London will know of Jo Silverston on cello, Daisy Palmer on percussion and Misha Law on fiddle. Elements of life; strangeness, sex, fear and joy are here jocularly and candidly explored.
