Michel Barros Bessone

Michel Barros Bessone is a composer, guitarist and charango player born in Santiago of Chile in 1982. He has accomplished formal musical training and composition studies at the University of Concepcion and later at the ARCIS University (ex SCD) in Chile. Most recently he has attended the Conservatoire of Music \Giovanni Battista Martini“ in Bologna, Italy. In addition Michel also completed courses in Indian millenary music and electro acoustic music. Currently he is studying Composition and new technologies at the Conservatory of Music \Benedetto Marcello“ in Venice, Italy. During his training itinerary he has been a pupil of maestros such as Santiago Cerda, Jose Miguel Candela, Horacio Salinas, Rodrigo Sigal, Jaime Soto, German Concha, Federico Schumacher, Roberto Parmeggiani e Michele Serra. In the last few years whilst living in Santiago he has participated in numerous musical projects both as a composer and a guitarist. During this time he has toured around the country performing concerts in Concepcion, Valparaso and Santiago. He has written music for short lms and audiovisual animation, for theatre, and the score of the program \My Magical World“ in Los Angeles,California.
As a charango player - an instrument with which he has developed a unique and personal style - he has performed live extensively both as a solist and in bands taking his music around to the most important European cities.
