Mills & Farrell, traditional/contemporary folk duo, travel the world in pursuit of music, both the ancient and in inspiration. They come from backgrounds of Australian rock (David Farrell) and Nova Scotia folk (Janet Mills). A sound inspired by Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, The Mild Carton Kids, and The Waifs, they use two voices and acoustic instrumentation to create and blend their own expression in the telling of provocative stories. Be it a conundrum of human experience, environmental tragedies, ancient songs from long ago, or distressed waterfowl, their sound is a connective live experience.
