Mishceif Brew have been creating protest songs, laments, and cautionary tales and battle cries with a beautiful musicanship and a dark sense of humour for 15 years.
Erik Peterson, a true hero of the DIY Anarcho Folk Punk scene in the US, started Mischeif Brew in 2000. Often paying homage to American labor radicalism of the early 20th century and the protest movements of the 1960´s, drawing inspiration from English and American folk traditions, and citing influences as:
´Flea markets, junk shops, boxcars, records, cassettes, hot sauce, the hiss and crank sounds of traveling amusement rides, rusty old farm tools, whiskey, Halloween, cider, cinnamon, margaritas, and that campfire smell you can´t get out of your clothes´.
