Brighton based singer-songwriter Sarah Williams started her career as a drummer in the indie-pop trio The Research and later became lead singer in Leeds band The Birthday Kiss. In 2015 she began work on her first solo album as well as returning to the stage as a drummer and singer for Piney Gir and more recently as backing vocalist for Gaz Coombes.
Whilst musically her solo sound is now poles apart from her past initial band incarnation, some things carry across in the themes she conveys in her music; love and loss. Polly conveys a vulnerable and seemingly deeply personal experience that feels like it is being performed for each individual, even in a packed room.
