Saxophonist and composer Rachael Cohen is one of the brightest stars of her generation. Originally from the Shetland Islands, she won a scholarship in 2006 to study jazz at The Birmingham Conservatoire with Julian Siegel, Jean Toussaint, Mike Williams, Hans Koller, and the late Tony Levin.
In 2012 Rachael recorded her critically acclaimed debut album, Halftime on Michael Janisch’s Whirlwind Recordings. The album earned her a spot in MOJO magazine’s top ten jazz albums of 2014. She has since worked extensively across the UK with her own projects and has become a regular at London clubs including Ronnie Scott’s and the Vortex as well as having residencies at other clubs across London.
