Rholben
Rholben are a fourpiece Welsh group. The core of the group are Siriol Davies (voice) and John Ruddock (guitar). Siriol grew up surrounded by song in South Wales, so they predominantly sing traditional Welsh language songs, with the occasional song in Galician inspired by their membership of Galician/Welsh band, Xogara. They are usually joined by Jane Griffiths (fiddle and viola) and Giles Lewin (fiddle), weaving beautiful and intricate string arrangements to complement the guitar and voice. .John and Siriol have been singing/playing together for about 10 years, and Rholben has emerged over the last 5 or so years. The have played at Festivals, at various locations in Wales, including at the National Eisteddfod in 2016, and lots in Oxfordshire where they are currently based.Rholben were described by one promoter as “bringing their haunting harmonies and bittersweet tales to life with tenderness and wit and deep emotion.”
