Sophie is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, based in Bristol. Although a classically trained pianist, for the last decade, she had mostly ignored the piano, in favour of instruments she could (just about!) throw on her bike and cycle to the next session. In this new project, returning once more to the instrument she knows best, Sophie Hyphae draws new found experience from the folk tradition, and weaves glimmering, modal piano improvisations through curious, earthy lyrics, to create dreamlike, nature-entangled songs
