Sukina Pilgrim is a poet, spoken word artist, playwright, and co-founder of Muslim female Hip Hop duo, Poetic Pilgrimage.
She has leads creative writing workshops, empowering communities to use the written word as a tool for dialogue and a means for accessing their authentic voice. She has delivered her workshop series, The Art of Speaking from the Heart, all around the world.
Sukina has played an intrinsic role within the British Muslim creative communities as a performer and events organiser, creating platforms for many British and international Muslim artists.
Her work has been featured on the BBC News, World Service and Asian Network, ITV, Channel 4 and Al Jazeera and has been written about in the Huffington Post, The Voice. In 2015 Al Jazeera screened Hip Hop Hijabis, a film documenting Poetic Pilgrimage.
Sukina´s first play, Afropean Human Being premiered at Royal Flemish Theatre, Brussels in February 2020.
