The Douglas Sisters have sprung up from Deal, and have been inspired by the bare, harsh beaches, the bitterly cold sea and the need for art that beats through the veins of anyone that dares to stay a while in Deal!
Their songs are essentially a reflection of their lives as mothers, lovers, sisters and daughters ( and occasionally about their passion for wild horses too!). Their songs contain melodious yet discordant twists which reflect their love of classical music mixed with an honesty that is impossible to deny and feel as a listener. Their songs feature vocal harmonies, 2 guitars, flute and musical saw and are dangerously beautiful to listen to leaving the listener moved and somewhat vulnerable!
The Douglas Sisters are some of the founding members of Cocos Lovers and their lives have been entwined with the story of Smugglers Records, and how this movement has shaped the lives and outlook of so many people growing up in and moving to Deal, allowing this musical and artistic movement to take them on a musical and personal journey to the Unknown!
