Hailing from the sleepy seaside town of Eastbourne, The Equatorial Group is formed of five friends from various and differing musical backgrounds. By navigating and taming this musical tug-of-war, they have created three records, in which some listeners hear the shadows of Neil Young or the colours of Fleetwood Mac.
A myriad of classic influences swirl beneath the surface and their sound defies easy categorisation, often sparking lively debate among listeners. But whether defined as roots-pop, folk rock, dreamy alt-country or anglo-americana, the heart of the band lies in connection, storytelling, and atmosphere. New album ´Sunseeker´ is out now on Musics Not Dead Records.
