Vula Viel means Good is Good in Dagaare, the language of the tribe in Upper West Ghana where Bex Burch lived for 3 years. Now it is the name of Bex’s new group with the best of London’s young music talent: Dan Nicholls (bass synth/keys), George Crowley (sax), two drummers Simon Roth and Dave De Rose, and vibes players Jim Hart and Stephen Burke.

Intensely rhythmic; an engaging mix of african, electronica and minimalist influences. Based around the Gyil (the Dagaare xylophone made of sacred lliga wood) Vula Viel brings the powerful ancient Dagaare music to an original and exciting western sound.

Seeing is believing with this band, and you’ll be glad you came, to find that good is most certainly good.

"These players have already created a niche on the busy world jazz scene that’s all their own” - Jazzwise
