Jay Chakravorty
Jay Chakravorty is a multi-instrumentalist composer and producer, based in London. His debut modern-classical album “A Map With No Memory” will be released on April 23rd 2021 on Berlin label Unperceived Records. The album was recorded in homes and studios around London with the help of musical friends Jo Quail (cello - Jo Quail, Poppy Ackroyd, Mono), Ellie Wilson (violin - Ellie Wilson, Stick In The Wheel), Hannah Nicholson (vocals - Ellie Goulding, Hannah Williams and the Affirmations) and Red Carousel (string quartet - The Heavy).
Jay has spent the last few years making music under various guises…as the BBC 6Music-feted solo artist Cajita; as a session musician, playing guitar, bass, piano, synths, accordion, percussion, and all manner of electronics at gigs both big (Royal Albert Hall, Hammersmith Apollo, Copenhagen Royal Arena) and small (way too many to mention); and finally as an in-demand composer, creating music for plays, adverts, shorts and feature films.
