The Ayoub Sisters: two siblings, Sarah and Laura, who are taking both the classical world and the more international world music arena by storm, ever since they were spotted by producer Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga, Adele). Born to Egyptian parents in Glasgow, they played, following HRH King Charles´ request, at the Honours of Scotland ceremony in St Giles´ Cathedral in Edinburgh, broadcast across the nation. They have also played at the Last Night of the Proms, Glasgow´s Proms in the Park, and in many other iconic settings and venues around the world. Other appearances include on the BBC Big Sing, BBC Songs of Praise and live in session on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and Scala Radio.

In 2019 they were awarded Arab Women of the Year for their achievements in Cultural Exchange and just last week they were appointed String Ambassadors to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Their success has not gone unnoticed in Egypt either: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi presented them with an award there for their achievements in music.

Their debut album topped the Official Classical Charts. ‘Arabesque’, their second album, came out last year and boasts inspiration from classic folk melodies from Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia and Algeria while still being unapologetically Scottish! The stunning video of their track El Helwa Di was filmed on location in the Sahara and in downtown Cairo with an Egyptian film crew is worth watching.
