Father and son duo Alexander Baillie (cello) and Max Baillie (violin) have been playing together for over 30 years since when Max began the violin aged 5. Alexander was a star of the classical world, appearing as soloist at the BBC Proms 6 times. Max has caught up a little and has
appeared all over the world and collaborated with artists including Bjork, Steve Reich, John Williams, Bobby McFerrin, Baaba Maal, and many others. The Baillie Duo’s repertoire has evolved since the early days of ‘Sad Swans’ and ‘The Crabs of Walberswick’, and now includes most of the major pieces written for the violin-cello combination, including the Brahms Double Concerto which they toured with South Africa’s national orchestra last year.
