“Dramatic, spellbinding with a touch of darkness in parts make Blind Atlas a thoroughly hypnotic act … powerful and mesmerising… well worth your attention.” [BBC]

“Their songs range from whiskey-soaked Blues to a melancholic mix of Folk, Americana and Rock to Cinematic Soundscapes with guitars that gently weep one minute and howl the next. Their differing musical drivers push melodic constructs and playing techniques that are not traditionally heard together or side by side both between and within songs.” [Mudkiss Magazine]

“Country blues grooving to a Burritos beat… Kodiak Bear brooding and reflective… hints of Exile on Maine Street, Calexico and Frontier Ruckus…” [Classic Rock Magazine: 7/10]

Hailing from Denver [Colorado USA] and disparate points around the UK, Blind Atlas came together in the bohemian suburbs of south Manchester; united by a shared preoccupation with drinking, failed relationships and the Flying Burrito Brothers. When it comes to influences Blind Atlas will offer up the proverbial mixed bag, citing everyone from Neil Young, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones to Calexico, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and the Grateful Dead.

Blind Atlas have notched up headline slots at some of Manchester’s most iconic venues as well as touring the UK including Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Bristol, Bath and London. They have also played at several UK Festivals including showcase slots at Liverpool SoundCity, In The City, Beat Herder, Eurocultured and Cloudspotting. Along the way they have supported bands such as The Bees, Blitzen Trapper, Megafaun, The Acorn, Buffalo Tom, The Bowerbirds, Liam Frost and The Features.

Blind Atlas released their DIY debut album ‘Kodiak Bear’ on the day they recorded their first live session with Bob Harris (BBC Radio 2) on 18 June 2012. The album has since garnered great online and print reviews including a 7/10 in Classic Rock magazine (August 2012). Blind Atlas relocated to London in October 2012 and had a change of line-up on the way. They are currently writing and recording material for their second album with the aim to release it early 2014.

Previous radio support includes UK national plays BBC Radio 2 (Bob Harris) and BBC6 Music (Cerys Matthews, Gideon Coe, Tom Robinson, Jo Good, Nemone) regional UK plays along with coverage across Europe and the US.
