Artist description:After a sold out Irish tour of Whelan’s, The Grand Social, The Ruby Sessions and Creans, followed by packed out festival performances at Body&Soul, Knockanstockan, a headline show at Dublin Quays Festival & Another Love Story, Robert John Ardiff is debuting his album “Between the Bed and Room” tour in the UK. Ardiff is best known for his work as part of the Choice Music Prize nominees Come On Live Long. During a quiet period for the band, he decided to write and record his own solo material. The songs which “etch themselves on you with great ease,” (Remy) from his debut album, “Between the Bed and Room”, were recorded during a series of sessions in his “boxroom” in two hour/night stints. Robert wanted to create something that sounded real, tangible and something that sounded like it was played by a person in their bedroom and not a machine. The songs deal with themes of growing up in a small Irish village, love, betrayal and understanding. “brittle and really rather magnificent” The Thin Air “8/10 – an honest self-portrait of a songwriter“ The Last Mixed Tape “executed perfectly, simultaneously haunting and comforting… there isn’t a bad song in there” Remy “soothing and emotive” Nialler9 Robert John Ardiff “has crafted an album of wistful wee-hour gems” The Sunday Times
