Artist description:Revisit the music of the iconic French chansonnier Georges Brassens with Sister Georges. Sister Georges are a UK/France based group who share a common love and interest in bringing back to life the music of Georges Brassens (amongst others) in their own unique, up tempo and jazzy style. Keep your ears peeled for Gainsbourg, Brel, and some classic jazz standards also added to the mix. The trio formed in the Summer of 2018 winning over audiences old and young alike whilst busking in the sunlit streets of international festival Jazz in Marciac in the South of France. Having had their fair share of wine and sun, they are venturing up into the cold but welcoming arms of the Anglo-saxons to celebrate the warmth, beauty and poetry of Brassens. On the guitar and vocals Felix Liperi interprets Brassens with energy and panache, seamlessly weaving through complex lyrics with his own distinct charm. Parisien drummer Lou Sakay keeps everyone’s feet tapping away, and London based Lucy Tasker on the clarinet adds a bit of seasoning to it all.
