Artist description:“Absolutely stunning” Rough Trade Nominated for Best Male & Best Song at 2014 Unsigned Music Awards Vive La Rose is the solo vehicle for Edinburgh songwriter and singer David James Herbert, currently in the studio working on the follow up to 2014´s critically acclaimed EP “Don’t Move, Don’t Speak”. The record was produced by recent Producers Guild award winner Moritz Hausler (Everything Everything/Bat For Lashes) and featured guest musicians Mark Neary (Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds/The Hours) and Nicky Francis (Goldheart Assembly). Vive La Rose has been championed by among others BBC Radio Scotlands Roddy Hard, XFM/Amazing Radio´s Jim Gellatly and BBC London/Amazing Radio’s Gary Crowly, while publications including the US Billboard Magazine have praised Herbert´s previous work for being “Heavy with spirit, emotion and sadness.” In support of “Don’t Move, Don’t Speak,” Herbert embarked upon a successful acoustic tour earlier in the year taking in Edinburgh, Glasgow and ending with a headline show at the incredible St Pancras Old Church in London. In addition, he has recently recorded guitar for singer/songwriter Padraig Whelan, picking up numerous plays on 6Music, Radio 2 and XFM, and playing prestigious venues such as the Union Chapel and Bush Hall.
