Irish Hooley at Bloomsbury Theatre: A Celebration of Irish Music and Culture

On Thursday 26th June at 7:30pm, Irish Music and Dance in London (IMDL) invites you to an unmissable evening of traditional Irish music at the prestigious Bloomsbury Theatre in London. Their annual ‘Irish Hooley’ returns as a flagship profile and fundraising event, showcasing some of the finest talent in the Irish music world.
Headlining the night are Frankie Gavin and De Dannan – legends of Irish music. Gavin, a master of fiddle and flute, is renowned for his virtuosic playing and collaborations with the likes of The Rolling Stones and Yehudi Menuhin. The latest line-up of De Dannan brings fresh energy and includes Diarmuid Ó Meachair (melodeon), Ian Kinsella (guitar), Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz (vocals/cello), and Jack Talty (keys), alongside Gavin himself.
Opening the evening is The Trad Gathering, IMDL’s acclaimed youth ensemble. Featuring young musicians from across London, this vibrant collective will perform music from the repertoire of pioneering London Irish music teacher Tommy Maguire. Led by Karen Ryan and Pete Quinn, The Trad Gathering continues to celebrate the city’s rich Irish musical heritage on some of the UK’s most prestigious stages.
Don’t miss this joyful celebration of tradition, talent, and community spirit.
