Celtic rock-folk outfit Thrifty Malone are proud to announce the release of their brand-new single “All Those Summers Ago”, a heartfelt reflection on childhood summers in Ireland, friendship, nostalgia, and the passage of time, made even more special by a guest appearance from one of their musical heroes, Steve Wickham (The Waterboys, NoCrows).

The band are thrilled to reveal that Wickham has recorded an evocative tenor guitar overdub for the track, lending his signature touch and unmistakable musicality to Thrifty Malone’s latest release.

“Having Steve record on one of our songs feels incredibly special, he’s been a huge influence on us for years, both musically and creatively. Not only is it a great coup to have him play on the track, but it’s also a real validation of what we’re doing as a band. For someone of his calibre to connect with our music in this way means the world.”

This collaboration came about after Wickham had previously helped with artwork for one of the band’s earlier singles. The result is a beautifully layered track that bridges generations of folk-rock tradition, imbued with warmth, melody, and authenticity.

The song was produced by GibAudio, whose keen ear for detail helped bring “All Those Summers Ago” to life.
