Old Manor Park Library is a space for artists, makers and people living in Manor Park. It incorporates affordable artists’ studios and Rabbits Road Institute, a new public space informed by the history and ethos of free public libraries. It was set up in 2015 as an artists’ project by Amy Feneck and Ruth Beale. Local people are invited to book the space for meetings, workshops and other activities.
In 2017, Rabbits Road Institute is hosting Rabbits Road Press a community risograph print studio and publishing press run by OOMK.
The studios support a broad range of practice including filmmaking, performance, making and research. Old Manor Park Library brings together artists and east Londoners to connect and share knowledge.
The interior of the building was repaired and restructured in autumn 2015 by the designers Nicholas Lobo Brennan and Astrid Smitham and the maker Philip T Ryan.
The Old Manor Park Library project is delivered in partnership by Create, Bow Arts and Newham Council. It is supported by the Mayor of London’s High Street Fund, The Charles Hayward Foundation and Arts Council England.
