The Pianodrome
The Pianodrome is the world’s first amphitheatre made entirely from upcycled pianos. Since it was built in 2017 it has become an iconic symbol of community and cultural resilience in Scotland’s capital.
The Pianodrome has had several incarnations around Edinburgh and is currently operating at Ocean Terminal in Leith.
Pianodrome create unique playable, community-centred sculptures made entirely from otherwise disused pianos. As part of a large network of makers, artists, performers and volunteers they design, build and install, then utilise the created space to programme inspiring festivals, one-off events and educational experiences.
