Our village hall is called The Reading Room. It has recently been substantially renovated and is a very well used valuable community resource available for hire.
The Reading Room is superbly situated in the Avon Valley, below Old Sarum opposite St Lawrence Church, next to its own generous car park. Full refurbishment is now complete, preserving the ambience of a late Victorian village hall in the Romantic tradition but with modern standards of comfort and services including wide door access and disabled toilet. The hall has space for up to 60 persons at a fully seated function. It is 11.5m long and 6.5m wide. A new fully-equipped kitchen (2.5m x 5.5m) has been installed. A green space has been preserved at the side of the hall and it faces on to a generous gravelled all-weather car park.
The Reading Room is a suitable venue for conference and away days, day centres and private parties.
