Rest of the UK Folk Music Venues
Temperance
Built around 1810, 33 Bath Street is a magnificent Grade II listed regency building, designed by William Thomas and occupying a prominent plot on the oldest street in Leamington Spa. It began life as a drapers shop, and around 1880 became the Westminster Temperance Hotel and Coffee Tavern.
After extensive renovation, Temperance is now a community cafe, art gallery and event space in the heart of the old town. In our lovingly restored cafe, we offer food and drink sourced from local suppliers. We sell vintage goods and we run a professionally curated art gallery, proving opportunities for local artists to display and sell work.
In our basement, we have an event space. We screen live performances from the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Opera House and Royal Ballet. We have regular poetry, story-telling, theatre and comedy nights. At least twice a week, we have live music from local and visiting musicians. We also play an active role in community education.
We are not your average coffee shop.
