Lowther’s free Folk, Roots & Maritime Festival celebrates seaside heritage

Lowther’s free Folk, Roots & Maritime Festival celebrates seaside heritage

Lowther Pavilion Theatre & Gardens is proud to welcome back its award-winning Folk, Roots & Maritime Festival, recognised at the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2024. The festival celebrates the Fylde Coast’s maritime heritage, where local shanty groups continue to keep the area’s seaside and fishing traditions alive.

A passion project for Lowther, the festival provides a platform for touring folk musicians and storytellers to share their craft and the heritage that inspires them. By making the event free to enter, Lowther aims to inspire both long-time folk enthusiasts and new audiences to celebrate the many forms of folk and maritime music.
