Myles Smith Returns to No. 1 on Official Folk Albums Chart

After being denied a return to the top spot by Richard Dawson’s End Of The Middle in the February edition, Myles Smith secures the UK’s biggest selling folk album in March.
You Promised Me A Life Time, which recently turned one year old, has enjoyed an extraordinary chart run, debuting at number one, and would go on to spend five non-consecutive months at the summit, never leaving the top four spots. The Lutonian recently capped off a meteoric 12 months by securing the BRIT Rising Star Award.
Elsewhere in the top ten we saw debuts for Constant Follower with The Smile You Send Out Returns To You at number 3, Thea Gillmore’s new album of covers These Quiet Friends coming in at number 4, and Collective, the new live album by Levellers at number 7.
The Official Folk Albums Chart is compiled by the Official Charts Company in partnership with English Folk Expo and aims to showcase the 40 best-selling and most streamed folk albums in the UK by UK and Irish artists. You can hear Folk on Foot reveal the chart in full here.
